Chrome won't delete SafeFinder

My macbook pro got infected by safefinder, I downloaded Malwarebytes and got rid of the applications, reset everything in my Chrome settings multiple times, uninstalled Chrome, restarted my laptop but it just won't go away. Whenever I open a new tab the safefinder page pops up. How do I get rid of it for good?

I was never able to do the 'nuke chrome part' as I honestly have no idea how to (even with instructions apparently 😬)

Can you point to the items you were unable to accomplish?

One possible issue might be finding the items that start with ~/Library since they may be located in an invisible folder, depending on what version of macOS you are running.

In addition to the instructions there for locating those items, there is another method. While in Finder you need to click on the "Go" menu in the menubar and select "Library".
