App Block septs running across the top of my screen.

Are you referring to the notification alert dialog box that appears stationary in the upper right corner of your screen or is it somehow moving as you've described?

What app are you trying to open when this occurs? (If you don't know click on "Reports" in the main Malwarebytes window and look for 'Protection Notification -- Malwarebytes has blocked "<NameOfApp>"' ' and "Real-time App Block -- Blocked: "<PathToProcess>" '

When you click "Learn More" is this the page that opens https://support.malwarebytes.com/docs/DOC-2997?

What "Opened Report" is it that keeps scrolling?

Where are you seeing "FreeFormsHelper"? Can you provide a screen shot?

Try this:

1) Do a scan with Malwarebytes and remove anything that was found

2) Go to the Quarantine tab in the Malwarebytes app and clear the quarantine

3) Restart the computer

If that doesn't fix it, please send me a direct message. I'll want to gather more information about that to identify what's being blocked by App Block and not detected by the normal scan engine.

App Block runner on top righthand top of screen only disappeared for a day and now every time I start up it comes back. Ran scan and no quarantine shows up, report says app is in Library, looked not there. I can close it for a second to access the new window tab or other tab. What can I do to stop this? Is it a feature? When I click on learn more it does not tell me what to do. The report said it is in the library on April 15, it doesn't give me that info now.

Do I uninstall and reinstall Malwarebytes or what, I have version 3.7.

It is really annoying, is this a feature, infection, what?!

There are three Library folders. Are you sure you looked in the correct one.

There is /System/Library, but it's heavily protected, so unlikely to be there.

There is /Library which requires an admin password to modify, so possible, but relatively low probability.

Then there is /Users/<YourUserName>/Library which is sometimes invisible. Best way to get there is to click on the Go menu in Finder and select Library.

Glad you solved part of the mystery.

I'd advise you to wait for the staff to come to work in a few hours as they will undoubtedly want to try and figure out why you are seeing these anomaly’s. I suspect they will want you download and run a diagnostic program and submit the results outside of this discussion as it is likely to contain information best not publicly posted.

Are you in communications with @treed via direct message on this. That would be the best way to proceed at this point.

Probably won't hear back until after Easter / Passover weekend, but when it's resolved I would like to know the final solution.

I am having the same issue  (App Block keeps popping up every 30 seconds), and I read the below threads but I don't know the solution.  "maf-task.app" .  Please advise.

I believe that burrowowl's problem may have been fixed, but I never got final confirmation.

For those having similar problems, please do the following:

1) Open the Malwarebytes app

2) Do a scan, and remove anything detected, if anything

3) Switch to the Quarantine pane, using the button on the left side of the main Malwarebytes window

4) Click the Clear Quarantine button, and confirm deletion of the quarantine

5) Restart your computer

6) Go back to step 1 and repeat. No need to proceed further if nothing is detected at that point.

7) If this doesn't solve the problem, or if there is something still detected after repeating these directions a second time, and it's still there after you restart a second time, please contact support.
