DA Brower / Android Innovation Malware

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone, I have a LEAGOO phone, which is almost 11 months old. After 9-10 months of operation I noticed a malware on my Android phone. An application DA Brower as well as Android.innovation get installed automatically. Malware picks them both, I uninstall them but shortly thereafter they get reinstalled themselves. I set the phone to factory settings but still the same issue. The last 3-4 days DA Brower doesn't appear any more though. What can I do? Your help is really appreciated. Thanks.

P.S. I rarely surf the internet on my phone, haven't visited dodgy sites, maybe just check my mail account. Otherwise, just phone calls and whatsapp.

Hi @MarcelBurger,

If you could send me an Apps Report, I can look further into this issue.

To send an Apps Report with Malwarebytes for Android use the following instructions.

1.Open the Malwarebytes for Android app.

2.Tap the Menu icon.

3. Tap Your apps.

4. Tap three lines icon in upper right corner.

5. Tap Send to support

Choose an email app to send Apps Report.

Your email app will open with the Apps Report included. Send the Apps Report to create a ticket.

Private Message (PM) me the email used and/or the ticket number assigned.

Nathan

Thanks for the Apps Report @MarcelBurger,

@MAM is right, Adups is most likely the culprit.

You can use this method to uninstall for current user (details in link below):

https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/216616-removal-instructions-for-adups/

Warning: Make sure to read Restoring apps onto the device (without factory reset) in the rare case you need to revert/restore app.

Use this/these command(s) during step 7 under Uninstalling Adups via ADB command line to remove:

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.adups.fota
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.adups.fota.sysoper

I have the same problem too! I also have been using my Leagoo Z6 for almost a year now and that DA Brower shows up from nowhere. At first i just constantly uninstall it but then it just wont stop showing itself. In my case though it only appears when i activate the wifi. Without wifi it doesnt show. It causes these annoying problems.

1. It won't allow me to type, my keyboard won't show up.

2. Small ads keeps popping up and eventually the fullscreen ones. This is especially annoying when i'm playing online games. The ads are mostly about mini games which i'm not interested in.

3. Another malware called Android Innovation also tags along.

4. Those ads just popup whenever they like and bothers me in everything i'm doing (surfing the net, texting, literally everything).

5. I tried force stop it or block all of its notifications, but its no use.

6. They add a bunch of weird files in both my phone storage and sd card. Most of the files starts with a (.)

7. I tried searching for it on Google but no result found. I only found this page because i typed Android Innovation instead of DA Brower.

8. Oh almost forgot, it also attacks my Google Chrome. It usually adds 2 new tabs and directs to a page where it tells me i can get mini games.

9. I factory reset my phone lots of times but also no use. It just comes back like it is one of the pre-installed apps.

I'm not rich to buy a new phone so I'll do whatever it takes to get rid of it. Tech stuff isn't really my strong suit but i will try those methods above. Wish me luck! Thank you.
