About the Malwarebytes "123" notification

This morning, a notification was sent to all devices with Malwarebytes for iOS installed, containing nothing more than the text "123."

This message was meant to be a test, sent only to a specific test device. Unfortunately, a mistake was made, and the notification was sent to everyone. 🤦‍♂️ We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We feel your pain here, too! (I got the notification as I was getting ready to head out the door, to take my son to school, while folks based out of our California office were awakened by it.)

The intent for these notifications is not to pester you, but to be able to alert you if there should be a major cybersecurity threat or outbreak that we think it's important for you to know about. This is not for marketing purposes, but truly our attempt to help people using our software stay safe. Unfortunately, this notification did not serve that purpose, and should never have been sent.

Again, we apologize for this error, and are taking steps to ensure this doesn't happen again.
