PUP.Optional.Search Manager won't stay removed

Recommended Posts

This has been going on for about a week now, and to summarise my experience so far:

- My list of programs shows nothing new or out of the ordinary

- Windows Defender, Avira Antivir and Hitman Pro show no results, only MalWareBytes and ADWCleaner do.

- I use MalWareBytes and ADWCleaner to quarantine & remove and clean & repair the infections respectively, and after that everything is fine, no more results come up. UNTIL I boot Chrome again, then the results come back up once again.

- For some reason every time I get 3 results for PUP.Optional.Search Manager from MalwareBytes and 1 result of the same thing from ADWCleaner

I attach logs from MalWareBytes and FRST.

Hi,

I do not see the folder in bold in your logs.
C:\USERS\PATRICK\APPDATA\LOCAL\GOOGLE\CHROME\USER DATA\Default\Secure Preferences

Do you see it and is it populated with files?
