Does MBAM web shield scans ssl https protocol?

Recommended Posts

Does MBAM web shield scans ssl https protocol? I'm asking this 'cause don't know why on firefox my avast even with the https scan option enabled doesn't block threats from https. I've triend with the https EICAR web site  https://www.eicar.org/?page_id=3950&fbclid=IwAR0Suz-J-3O-gu0VVx8JL5tgipu8zcRbJHC5RHKYI_KC2jDlBU7tQkbmXyc

And i was able to download every single test file even the http protocol. With chrome avast works fine so don't know if the problem is due to some avast issue or firefox issue and that's why i'm asking this. To be sure if i'm still protected with MBAM premium

Thanks in advance

avast doesn't work well on firefox

One of 1001 reasons I only use and install Malwarebytes and use Windows Defender ONLY. I do the same with 100's of clients. I have seen only 4 infected machines since July 2015. None of those were running Windows 10  (Defender) and Malwarebytes.

By itself, It is just ok. But in combination with Malwarebytes Premium, it does a darn good job.  I also encourage my clients to use Firefox or chrome which I have already installed Ublock origin.

Because unlike Avast or even Defender, MB does not react until you execute or scan a file. Programs like Avast or Defender or any other 3rd party AV programs will react on download or even when you open a folder with a malicious file in it.

Malwarebytes strengths are in the other shields besides the malware protection component.

No matter what you use, It always recommended keeping current image backups (monthly at the minium) isolated from the system (not connect except when backing up) for many reasons other than infection. ( Think harddrive failure, Bad updates, etc. I use and recommend Macrium Reflect Free and a $50 external drive.
