I found a site that appears to have a lot of antivirus help: it is blippingcomuter.com.

is it a reputable site?

Are the links to software (including malewarebytes) safe.

Why do they have you use several anti virus programs to remove/kill a virus?

And what is RKill?

Confused

Ray

Without question.  That is Lawrence (Grinler) Abrams' site.  Members of their Malware Study Hall group train malware removal experts globally.

Occasionally their copies can be old but integrity is high.  Still, users are always best served downloading from the author's/developer's home site or designated site.  Malwarebytes is no exception.

When and if an AV is indicated, sometimes one utility is not enough.  The same applies to other security utilities.  Sometimes no AV tool is required at all.

RKill is a security utility authored by Grinler.  Since you are unfamiliar with RKill, you are advised to not use this powerful tool without malware professional guidance.  Seriously.

If a computer you work with has been infected, and you lack the formal training, it would be best if you study the sticky at I'm infected - What do I do now? and then start your own topic within the Windows Malware Removal Help & Support sub-forum.  It's free!
