For an analysis to begin, please post a mbst-grab-results.zip archive file from the computer in question:

Note: Please do not select the Start Repair button.

I also get Error 5 each time I try to install the latest MB update.   But when I doubleclick the Support Tool executable, it unzips and then returns the following error:  7-Zip   Access Denied.     Am I between a rock and a hard place?    This is my work computer which also has TrendMicro AV software installed by the company.   Any ideas?   I really want the new version of Malwarebytes.

Hi @ginnyburke,

The Malwarebytes Support Tool extracts files to the %temp% directory, which is why you're see that error.

Could you try booting the machine into Safe Mode and trying again there. If you still encounter an issue, the issue is probably related to the configured permissions on the %temp% directory. We can explore this further if Safe Mode provides unsuccessful.
