New version available

Recently I had a popup box that said a new version was available. Install now? I clicked yes, went through the prompts and even the required system restart. I still get the popup box saying that a new version is available, and when I open Malwarebytes it says the same thing: A new and improved version of Malwarebytes is available. Install now. When I click install now, I get: Do you want to allow this program to make changes to your computer. I click yes, then I get: Select the language to use during installation, English, I click OK, then I get An instance of malwarebytes is already running. My only options at this point is OK, or X out to close. Nothing gets installed.

Then, only complete steps #4 and #5.  That would have you attach the generated mbst-grab-results.zip archive in your next reply to this topic.

We can then continue from that point.

Hello and Welcome!

Here is something you can try to resolve the issues.

• Go to Folder C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\instlrupdate
• If there is an update file in there delete the file found in there
• Reboot the computer and see if you are still prompted to install an update

Turn off self-protection in Malwarebytes.

In case you have any trouble finding it, self-protection is located under Settings>Protection under the Startup Options section near the bottom of the tab.
