Files are encrypted

Hi,

Yesterday a lot of files on my PC got encrypted, i am not sure if it is a ransomware attack or virus attack. Need your help to identify the problem and to fix it. Files extensions are changed to some random letter after the real extension. Now the file extensions are " *.udvsgcjc" . In each folder which got encrypted, there is a text file with name " UDVSGCJC-DECRYPT.txt", but it doesn't contain any text, it seems empty. I have attached a sample image with this topic. Thank you.

Sorry, I was away this weekend.

As stated by ID-Ransomware, this variant of GandCrab might be decryptable. In that case, I suggest you to click on the link they provide (Click for here more information etc.), register on BleepingComputer.com and ask for assistance in the GandCrab thread.

It's not working for me unfortunately, BitDefender decryption showing an initialization error. I think this one is 5.0.4 version of GrandCrab. I got this response from BitDefender team,

Hello,

GandCrab version 5.0.4 and later versions are currently undecryptable. While there is nothing we can do right now, please take a moment to back up your affected files and the ransom note on your desktop and store them somewhere safe. We’re working to create a decryptor for your version of GandCrab but we can’t give you an estimated time of arrival.

If you would like to learn when it is available and are using Twitter, make sure you follow @BitdefenderLabs – that’s where we announce progress with the ransomware decryption tools.

Hang on, help is coming; it just takes a while until we get the tools ready.

Sorry that we cannot help you any further at the moment :(

Stay safe,
