Computer keyboard and mouse dead

Recommended Posts

Had some “shop pop up” on my computer and decided I wanted to try some anti-malware program, and got this recommended. Really wished I hadn’t.

After a scan and quarantine my keyboard and mouse are completely dead. At first my keyboard did react in bios, but when I read in forums about this being the solution, my keyboard and mouse have even stopped working before getting to bios.

Not sure what I’m hoping to get by writing by this, since my computer is just purely unusable now, as I can’t access my computer in any way. I just wish you could tell people that your software can destroy one’s computer much more severely than any virus.

Hello coraldomino and welcome to Malwarebytes,

Which version of windows do you have installed, also is it 32bit or 64bit... Do you have installation DVD, do you have USB flashdrive 4GB or above, do you have access to a spare PC...

Try this first, unplug Keyboard and Mouse, power off your PC. Power PC back on, wait till it goes as far as possible. Plug in Keyboard and Mouse, what happens...?
