Also my new system is Windows 10.  I beleive there is built in virus/malware protection in 10.  Is my MWB and the stuff in 10 going to be good neighbors?  Do I need to put an exclusion in my MWB for whatever is built into 10.

Just enter your id and key numbers in your installed version of MB3 and you should be good to go.

Usually exclusion aren't needed, Defender and MB3 work well together.

You should use this setting though:

I don't understand.  There is no installed version of MWB on my new computer.  No data was transferred over.  Starting out from scratch.  Also, where do I find the Windows Action Center you refer too.  Thanks for your fast reply.

Are you saying first install the free version, and then there will be a place to enter my info?

That's correct. There's a single installer file for Malwarebytes, that encompasses both the Free and Trial/Premium versions. Once you've installed Malwarebytes using the following instructions, refer to the articled linked in Porthos' post above for steps on how to activate Premium with your license ID and Key.

We recommend running Malwarebytes alongside the built-in Windows 10 for the best combination of protection and performance. Most users experience no issues running both programs together and exclusions are typically not required. However, if you do notice an impact on performance or other issues with the computer, exclusions can indeed be configured to help mitigate the issue.
