Hello,

Thank you for providing the troubleshooting logs. Please do the following:

  • Right-click the Malwarebytes icon in the notification area (next to the clock) and click Quit Malwarebytes.
  • Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard at the same time.
  • Type services.msc and click OK.
  • Scroll through the list of services until you reach Malwarebytes Service. Right-click Malwarebytes Service and click Properties.
  • Set the Startup type to Automatic (Delayed Start).
  • Click OK and close the Services window.

Once done, please restart the computer (Start button > arrow next to Shut down > Restart). After the restart, please open Malwarebytes and verify the state of the Malware Protection, Web Protection and Ransomware Protection. Let me know how you get on.

I believe this is an issue with Insider Preview build 18323 of Windows 10 as I've seen similar reports from several other users running the Insider Preview.  Also bear in mind that, at least as I understand it, Malwarebytes does not officially support any beta/early preview operating systems, including the MS Insider Preview builds, so official support for build 18323 should not be expected until it is released officially to non-insiders by Microsoft and that unforeseen issues may occur when running Malwarebytes software on the test operating system.

Here are a couple of other topics where similar issues with the Insider Preview build have been reported:

Build 18329 resolves the problems with limited protections using version 3.6.1

If 3.7 is available as some report it is not automatically downloading and 3.6.1 is responding as the current update.

Hello,

Prior to today, 3.7 was only available via the beta channel (Settings > Application > Beta Application Updates).

It has now been released to all users. See here: https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/242280-ladies-and-gentlemen-mb371/
Note that this update is being metered out, so you may not receive an update notification immediately.

If you wish to update immediately, click Settings followed by Install Application Updates.
