Major fps lag while playing games, multiple weird .exe's in task manager

Recommended Posts

FRST.txt Addition.txt log.txt

(repost due to missing log files. A second time.. sorry, first time using this website)

Noticed recently a major dip in performance while playing games. Checked my task manager, had a few "windows powershell" taking up a bit of my cpu performance. Specifically when playing Assassins Creed Odyssey.

Could it be related to some kind of malware?

Is the problem solved?

I will check when I get home from work tonight, didn't have any time yesterday after I did what you asked. I'll update later. :)

Do you have any clue why "windows powershell" shows up while playing that game? I've googled it and haven't noticed anything specific for that game or other games either.
Did anything about it show up in the logs?

I found one Task that may be the culprit. It's from Bitdefender that may have been removed in the past.
The fix will remove the tsk.
How ever if the problem persists I suggest you remove all traces by running their uninstaller.

Download and run their uninstaller tool from this site.
This will remove all traces of the program.
https://www.bitdefender.com/uninstall/

Restart the computer when the removal is completed.

Keep me posted.

Okay, did it. Might've noticed a small improvment, but still some weird fps issues.
But I guess malware isn't the issue then? Must be something else.. Worst is AC oddysey but also having issues with other games.

Fixlog posted atleast, tell me if you find the culprit or a tip where to "look" next. :)

Hi,

  • Locate the ReportRogue.txt file on your Desktop and copy/paste the contents in your next.

=======

Download to your Desktop the Junkware Removal Tool Download from this link.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/junkware-removal-tool/

Shutdown your antivirus to avoid any conflicts.
Right click the icon - disable for say 20 mins.
Right-mouse click JRT.exe and select Run as administrator (If using XP just double click on the icon to run it.)
The tool will open and start scanning your system.
Please be patient as this can take a while to complete.
On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message.
======

If that fails to improve your games re install one of them and find out if the problem persists.
