Mi Credit App flagged as Malware

Recommended Posts

Is this a false positive? I've had Malwarebytes installed for some time and it's the first time it flags "Mi Credit" as malware. Since it's my first time detecting malware I can't delete (it's a system app and  the phone won't even let me disable it) I want to make sure this isn't a false positive, because if it's not, then I'm gonna have to root my phone to delete the app (and I would like to avoid that)

Device: Xiaomi, Redmi Note 5
OS: Android 8.1.0 [27]
Build: Android - release, 3.5.1.2 [35102]
Root: No
Installer Source: Google Play

Hi @N7Witcher,

From the what I can tell, it is not an FP.  However, let's make sure by getting the exact variant on your device.  The easiest way to do this is by sending an Apps Report.

To send an Apps Report with Malwarebytes for Android use the following instructions.

1.Open the Malwarebytes for Android app.

2.Tap the Menu icon.

3. Tap Your apps.

4. Tap three lines icon in upper right corner.

5. Tap Send to support

Choose an email app to send Apps Report.

Your email app will open with the Apps Report included. Send the Apps Report to create a ticket.

PM me the email used and/or the ticket number assigned.

After verifying, we have a method that does not require root to remove.

Nathan
