Macrium Guardian and Ransomware Protection

Recommended Posts

Are there any known conflicts or issues with running ransomware protection and macrium guardian to protect backups?

If I'm using macrium guardian to protect my backups, is there any advantages to using the malwarebytes ransomware component as well?

Apologies - I am not that technically adept.

Malwarebytes version: 3.6.1.2711

Component version: 1.0.508

Update version: 1.0.8728

Thanks.

Greetings, @gails -

As I understand it, Macrium Image Guardian protects only those backup image files created by Macrium.

https://www.macrium.com/mig

This will not protect your other data files like the Malwarebytes Anti-Ransomware component will, though of course, the backup images should be safe from interference, based on the writeup.

We're not aware of any conflicts between the two.

@gails

I have been running MBAM Premium alongside Macrium Reflect (paid) for years now.  There has never been any conflicts with the Macrium Image Guardian and either Malwarebytes or my Bitdefender Total Security.

Have a great day.

Regards,
-Phil
