Making sure there isn't a Virus

Recommended Posts

I got a virus back in October and thought I took care of it with RougeKiller. Later had hard drive problems and wasn't sure if it was a virus or just hard drive failure. Long story short, I ended up replacing the C drive and while things are better, I'm still running into issues. At least one program freezes the entire PC upon installation, malwarebtyes has crashed according to windows, had trouble downloading necessary updates for windows and still having trouble downloading an important update for windows defender, and other issues. RougeKiller did pick up something when I first ran it but there's nothing now for Malware or RougeKiller. I'm not convinced that everything is fine. I want to make sure the issue isn't a virus.

Side note: I have my additional hard drives unplugged atm, not sure if that will make a difference for the reports.

It's been over a week since I posted this. I tried installing/updating software and drivers and my Malwarebytes was disabled for protection and would NOT turn on. After a few starts it finally started working again but something seems wrong. Could someone address my thread. I've added updated files.

If it's NOT a virus, can you let me know.

Hello  and
:welcome:

Please take your time.

Not seeing much in the logs and nothing indicating an infection

I have attached A file I need you to download and save it to the same place that you saved the FRST program

Download attached **fixlist.txt** and save it to same location where the FRST tool is located.

NOTE: Both FRST.exe and the fixlist.txt must be in the same location or the fix will not work.
Close all browsers before running.

Double click FRST to run the tool. If the tool warns you the version is outdated, please download and run the updated version.
 •Click the **Fix Button**.

•If you receive a message that a reboot is required, please make sure you allow it to restart normally.

•The tool will complete its run after restart.

When finished, the tool will make a log (Fixlog.txt) in the same location from where it was run. Please attach the Fixlog.txt in your reply.

Restart the pc and let me know how it's running now.

Decided to give it a few days to see if I ran into anymore issues. So far so good. Did some other fixes with a program so it stopped crashing and Malwarebtyes isn't acting weird. Still have an issue with a Windows update failing but that may be an OS issue and not related to any virus. I attached the file as you requested.
