Malwarebytes refuses to open

I am unable to uninstall it, error message pops up:


Message file "C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes\Anti-Malware\unins001.msg" is missing. Please correct the problem or obtain a new copy of the program.

and also when I try re-installing it, I download the setup file from malwarebytes.com and run it, it asks me for language settings and the install icon (logo with small downward arrow) shows on the explorer panel but can't be opened and doesn't seem to do anything. I'm lost.

I installed the support tool and accidentally clicked on "start repair" instead of "advanced" as advised, and couldn't figure out a way to stop the repair process so I went through with it, and now it seems the program actually opens and runs normally again.

If it goes down again I will this time follow the instructions more carefully and report here!
