Jonahsworm Posted December 20, 2018 ID:1288216 Share Posted December 20, 2018 been using OpenNIC Public Servers DNS 207.148.83.241 and 111.67.20.8 and 103.236.162.119 for some time(SEE: https://servers.opennic.org/edit.php?srv=ns3.vic.au.dns.opennic.glue)but since yesterday MB is blocking the those 3 DNS again and giving the warning as Trojan Can you kindly pls check if this is FP and fix by next update? Jonahsworm Posted December 20, 2018 Author ID:1288225 Share Posted December 20, 2018 Also pls check DNS 178.17.170.179 Is something going on? You seems to be blocking a good few of DNS ?! Is OpenNIC unsafe to use by MB flittering standards? Thanks
Staff Dashke Posted December 20, 2018 Staff ID:1288249 Share Posted December 20, 2018 The block was put because of Trojan.Hancitor. I will be removing the block now.
Jonahsworm Posted December 20, 2018 Author ID:1288276 Share Posted December 20, 2018 Much appreciated seems like there are a few more while you are at it... 87.98.175.85 193.183.98.66 51.255.48.78 5.135.183.146 188.165.200.156 not sure why buy every now and then MB suddenly went 'rouge' and block a bunch of DNS some I have posted before some just went away on next several updates - do you know why does MB keep doing this? Its a small annoyance but I dont want to whitelist all of the DNS from OpenNIC Thanks for your time anyway
Staff Solution Dashke Posted December 21, 2018 Staff Solution ID:1288448 Share Posted December 21, 2018 Thanks! I will review them all. The problem is that trojans were using these IPs for malicious purposes.
Jonahsworm Posted December 21, 2018 Author ID:1288474 Share Posted December 21, 2018 Okie got it! Its better to be safe than sorry later... I should not just whitelist them I suppose all public DNS has the same potential problem Thought I should ask an expert here on MB Many thanks for your generous time and super effort and the great work you do here Wishing MB a happy holidays and great 2019 year ahead
