What does it mean when scanning a specific drive is REALLY slow?

Recommended Posts

Final scan time: 2 hours, 32 minutes. I don't mind that it's slow if that's normal, I only want to be sure it doesn't mean the drive might have some stealthy virus that's interfering with MB.

What do you mean by stuck? Did you disable your other security software while it runs?

Did you wait a long period of time? If our scanner is slow it's possible the Kaspersky scanner may be even slower.

It just sat on one file indefinitely. The first time I assumed it was just being slow and left it overnight, and it was still on the same file in the morning. I'll try pausing Avast, but I don't know why Avast would have caused it to freeze on a random file like that.

Most full antivirus programs can cause issues with each other. Please fully disable Avast and try again.

Also, you could try scanning with Avast and see what speed you get with that too
