I think my computer might be infected.

Recommended Posts

My web search window keeps coming up to a Microsoft window instead of Google. I tried resetting etc but it keeps happening. I ran Malwarebytes and found some things. One in particular called Adware Injector. I tole Malwarebytes to quarantine it and then restarted the computer. It worked for awhile but then the Microsoft web browser page came back. I am using a Windows 10 pc. Logs are attached.

Hello, Welcome to Malwarebytes.
I'm nasdaq and will be helping you.

If you can please print this topic it will make it easier for you to follow the instructions and complete all of the necessary steps in the order listed.

Please download the attached Fixlist.txt file to  the same folder where the Farbar tool is running from.
The location is listed in the 3rd line of the FRST.txt log you have submitted.

Now boot your Windows 10 computer into "Safe Mode"

  • Press Windows logo key + I on your keyboard to open Settings. If that doesn't work, select the Start button in the lower-left corner of your screen, then select Settings.
  • Select Update & security > Recovery.
  • Under Advanced startup, select Restart now.
  • After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  • After your PC restarts, you'll see a list of options. Select 4 or F4 to start your PC in Safe Mode.

Run FRST and click Fix only once and wait.

The tool will create a log (Fixlog.txt) please post it to your reply.

Restart the computer normally.

Let me know what problem persists.
