Malwarebytes possibly not picking up infection

Recommended Posts

I recently had a folder appear with the file disktoast.exe in it. Which doesn't sound very friendly.

As with a lot of imitation Microsoft services it comes with many posts saying 'its fine'.

However this group has flagged it as suspicious

I've suspected I'm infected with something that's undetected / has disabled Malwarebytes (I'm a subscribed customer) for a while now as I've had some weird behaviours from my PC.

Is this a legit Microsoft product?

What steps can I take to clean my system so that whatever is doing this is gone for good?

How can I be sure Malwarebytes is doing its job?
