How do I report my domain being incorrectly blocked?

Recommended Posts

I've been searching for awhile now trying to find something on the Malwarebytes website that allows me to search for my domain or IPs being blocked, but there doesn't seem to be any such tool, so I'm turning to the forums as a last resort.  For some time now I have been getting reports from people who have tried to view my picture gallery stating that Malwarebytes is blocking them from accessing a malicious domain.  Well that is rather generically unhelpful.  Could someone please provide some information as to WHY you think my domain is a problem?

The domain name is sourpuss.net, and is hosted from several IP addresses (IPv4 and IPv6).  I will have to assume this is a block on the domain name only, since they seem to have no trouble viewing other domains being run from the same servers.  This is a personal web server providing a number of different domains, however I have never so much as posted a banner ad on my pages, so I'm really curious to see what it is you think you found.

Greetings,

You can find many of the domains and IP addresses which are blocked by Malwarebytes in the hpHosts database which is run by the lead Malwarebytes Web Protection Researcher.  It does not list all of the sites that are blocked by Malwarebytes however, as the HOSTS file database maintained there doesn't work in the same way that the Web Protection component in Malwarebytes does.

If you wish to report a Web Protection false positive then please review the information in this topic as well as this topic and then create a new topic in the Website Blocking false positive area by clicking here and a member of the Malwarebytes Research team will review the site(s) being reported and respond as to whether it is a false positive or not/why it is being blocked and will act accordingly to remove the site(s) from the block list if it is a false positive.

Please let us know if there is anything else we might assist you with.

Thanks

Thank you for that.  I did in fact find two listings for sourpuss.net, both from over a year ago, with no information other than the domain was rated EMD.  I went ahead and sent a request there asking for information and removal, should I wait for a reply from them or go ahead and also create a new post in the other forum group you linked to?

I'm also confused as to what information I am supposed to provide.  The topics you linked to all assume someone actually has a windows computer available to get a report from MBAM.  I have no such machine, and as such I've never had any need for their software.  Can I still open a new post with just the domain name and IP addresses?
