Real Time Protection turns off

Greetings,

There seems to be an issue with one of the recent builds of Malwarebytes causing this behavior.  It is usually fixed by performing a clean reinstall so please try the following to see if it corrects the issue:

  1. Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
  3. Click the Clean button, and allow it to restart your system and then reinstall Malwarebytes, either by allowing the tool to do so when it offers to on restart, or by downloading and installing the latest version from here

Please let us know how it goes.

These steps worked for me. I was having the same issue as OP. Thank you, Exile!

No, it definitely shouldn't be happening constantly like that.  Please do the following so that we can take a look at your installation and hopefully determine what's causing the issue:

  1. Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Accept the EULA and click Advanced tab on the left (not Start Repair)
  3. Click the Gather Logs button, and once it completes, attach the zip file it creates on your desktop to your next reply

Thanks

Thanks, on first look the only item I see that might be related is Avast.  They're known to sometimes have issues with Malwarebytes when running in real-time together.  Can you try uninstalling Avast temporarily just to test and see if that eliminates the issue?  I'd suggest uninstalling Avast, restarting your system, then performing a clean uninstall/reinstall of Malwarebytes one more time just to make sure everything is refreshed fully, then test to see if protection functions normally consistently after that.

Once that's done, let us know how it went and we'll move on from there.  Even if the two are conflicting there are probably steps we can take to make them work together properly, I just want to make certain that's the cause before we dive into changing a bunch of settings etc.

Thanks
