Recommended Posts

Some sites Malwarebytes will constantly say its blocking things which is great, but how do I stop this and instead open the program maybe once and day and see a list of stuff it blocked. oh and why is Openload.co flagged as a Trojan. I've been using it for awhile now and never had a issue.

Greetings,

I'm sorry that you're having trouble with the software, however hopefully we can get it working the way you want it and eliminate the unwanted notifications.

To start, with regards to openload.co, I'm not a member of the Malwarebytes Research team so I cannot speak to why they are detecting it, however if you wish you may review the information here as well as here and then create a new topic in the Website Blocking false positives area by clicking here and a member of the Malwarebytes Web Research team should respond to provide some details about why this site is being blocked.

Now, with regards to the notifications themselves, eliminating those is fairly simple.  Just open Malwarebytes and navigate to Settings>Application and below the Notifications section toggle the option for Show Malwarebytes notifications in the Windows System Tray to Off and that should eliminate them, however do keep in mind that this will disable all notifications of detected/blocked threats as well as blocked websites, however more urgent issues where your attention is required such as when one or more components of Malwarebytes protection has been disabled will still be displayed, so you won't have to worry about not being alerted about something more serious like that.

For reviewing past detections/blocked items, you have a couple of options.  First, if you open the main Malwarebytes window you will notice a small bell shaped icon in the upper right-hand corner.  If you click on this it should show you a list of past detection events, however the level of detail is very brief and I don't believe it shows which site was blocked, so you may instead need to review the items listed in the Reports tab in Malwarebytes where you will find all of your scan logs and protection event log entries and you can sort by date or event type to more easily locate what you're looking for.  Unfortunately you'll have to open each one individually to review it to find out the details of what was blocked for each, as again it only shows a brief generic description of the event (i.e. "Website blocked") along with the date/time that the event/block occurred.

I hope this is helpful and if there is anything else we might assist you with please let us know.

Thanks
