Error message wont go away after Malwarebytes trial ended.

My defender shield has a red x on it, saying ACTION NEEDED.  When I click on it to open the Windows Defender Security Center, Virus and Threat Protection tells me that Malwarebytes is off and your device might be unprotected.  This started after the Malwarebytes trial period ended, reverting back to the free version.  The error message wont go away, even if I open Malwarebytes.

Please try following the instructions in this support article to deactivate the trial to see if that eliminates the issue.

It is deactivated.  The trial ended and the problem began.

Screw that hassle.  I think I'll just uninstall and stop using Malwarebytes.
