I've recently been having issues trying to run certain programs that when I try to open them, they start, but stop immediately. I've also been having issues trying to install programs: when I try to install programs, the installation starts but then they either freeze, or fail to install. I tried to scan for any viruses on my computer that may cause this, but I've had no luck so far; i would appreciate if someone could help me find the cause for this, thanks.

Hello @Flusker and :welcome:

I would highly recommend that you uninstall and not use software like the following. If you really need a driver please only get it from the Manufacturer website.

Driver Easy 5.6.5

Please remove our program from the MSCONFIG settings
MSCONFIG\Services: MBAMService => 2

If you really don't want or use those programs or settings then consider uninstalling and/or deleting the startup entry items. MSCONFIG should be used as a diagnostic tool not a startup manager.

Windows Defender appears to be having issues starting or keeping running. Let's look at repairing it.

Please run the following fix.

NOTE: This will run a System File Check as well as a DISM repair. This may take up to an hour or more to complete. Please let it complete on it's own. Once done the computer will reboot.

Please download the attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop.
NOTE. It's important that both files, FRST or FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work.

NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on this particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system.

Run FRST or FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
If the tool needs a restart please make sure you let the system restart normally and let the tool complete its run after restart.
The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please attach or post it to your next reply.

Note: If the tool warned you about an outdated version please download and run the updated version.

fixlist.txt

Thanks, Ron
