Bing917 Posted October 8, 2018 ID:1274154 Share Posted October 8, 2018 Hey everyone, I've recently been hacked on a video game and I've been trying to figure out how it happened. I didn't think it was a virus because I only use my windows to play that one game and I don't do anything else on it really. It is also scanned regularly by Mcafee internet security. After this hack, I scanned my mac with Malwarebytes 2 spigots came up but after googling I don't think they were able to keylog me and get my passwords but I am not 100% sure what a spigot is. Now my windows lol. Scanned it with Mcafee one virus came up called like a JTI/Suspect! I quarantined and removed it. Scanned it with Malwarebytes and 882 threats detected many were PUPs but a lot were also called Malware. The computer seems to be running a lot faster, but I have three questions. 1. Am I safe now? 2. Is Mcafee really that trash it missed 881 threats? 3. I have also been getting a lot of attempted logins from different countries on my email when I check recent activity. None have been successful. Is that related? Thank you, everyone, and hope you're having a great Thanksgiving!
Bing917 Posted October 8, 2018 Author ID:1274155 Share Posted October 8, 2018 Just an added note is there a way to scan my iPhone and iPad? I downloaded the app but it doesn't scan it.
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted October 8, 2018 Root Admin ID:1274201 Share Posted October 8, 2018 Hello @Bing917 and We need to get some new scans and logs to see what's going on with your computer. We do have products for Mac as well but let's stick to the Windows computer in this topic. Here are the links though to our Mac and Mobile productshttps://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/https://www.malwarebytes.com/mobile/ Please run the following steps and post back the logs as an attachment when ready.STEP 01 If you're already running Malwarebytes 3 then open Malwarebytes and check for updates. Then click on the Scan tab and select Threat Scan and click on Start Scan button. If you don't have Malwarebytes 3 installed yet please download it from here and install it. Once installed then open Malwarebytes and check for updates. Then click on the Scan tab and select Threat Scan and click on Start Scan button. Once the scan is completed click on the Export Summary button and save the file as a Text file to your desktop or other location you can find, and attach that log on your next reply. If Malwarebytes won't run then please skip to the next step and let me know on your next reply. STEP 02 Please download AdwCleaner by Malwarebytes and save the file to your Desktop. Right-click on the program and select Run as Administrator to start the tool. Accept the Terms of use. Wait until the database is updated. Click Scan Now. When finished, please click Clean & Repair. Your PC should reboot now if any items were found. After reboot, a log file will be opened. Copy its content into your next reply. RESTART THE COMPUTER Before running Step 3 STEP 03 Please download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit Double-click to run it. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer. Press the Scan button. It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply. The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). If you've, run the tool before you need to place a check mark here. Please attach the Additions.txt log to your reply as well. Thanks Ron

Bing917 Posted October 8, 2018 Author ID:1274249 Share Posted October 8, 2018 Hey Ron, Would you be able to give any insight on what these two virus/threats are? Looks like my Mcafee found it right around the time my game account was hacked. i attached the screen shot of it. Thank you!
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted October 9, 2018 Root Admin ID:1274272 Share Posted October 9, 2018 Not enough information there, but based on the one name I can see it is a CNET download. They typically add their own wrapper which typically has advertising as part of the installer. A lot of antivirus apps don't like that and flag it. If possible it's best to never download from CNET. Find the real source if possible. Let me have you run another scan using Kaspersky and see if it finds anything else, just in case. Please download and run the following Kaspersky antivirus scanner to remove any found threats Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool Let me know if it finds anything or not
Bing917 Posted October 27, 2018 Author ID:1277957 Share Posted October 27, 2018 Hey Ron, I've decided to do a full system restore and wiped all files on this computer. I've installed Malwarebytes and my Mcafee antivirus as well as the one game. I've ran the Malwarebytes and it came back with one Trojan found which I found very odd. Ran it again after quarantine and nothing after. Ran the Kaspersky scan and nothing found with that one either. I uploaded the file down below if you could help me out to know if this something that isn't serious or if the virus is still hiding in the computer? Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted October 28, 2018 Root Admin ID:1277976 Share Posted October 28, 2018 I'm sorry but I have no information on exactly what it is or where it came from. A lot of reading here but if you take the time to read a bit of it you'll see why/how infections and general damage are so easily inflicted on the computer. There is also advice on how to prevent it and keep the system working well. Don't forget about good, solid backups of your data to an external drive that is not connected except when backing up your data. If you leave a backup drive connected and you do get infected it can easily damage, encrypt, delete, or corrupt your backups as well and then you'd lose all data. Nothing is 100% bulletproof but with a little bit of education, you can certainly swing things in your favor.
