Malwarebytes licence error. (MBAM404101)

Recommended Posts

I've got Malwarebytes and I'm trying to activate a licence but I always get two errors, one about the licence server and the other is MBAM404101 installation key not found. Anybody knows how to fix this?

Hi @catsgreimon

You have our license server blocked in your hosts file. You will need to remove the keystone.mwbsys.com entry. You can also remove the telemetry.malwarebytes.com entry and just turn off the telemetry option at the bottom of Settings -> Applications. If you're unsure of how to remove those entries, here's a Microsoft entry on how to reset your hosts file: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/972034/how-to-reset-the-hosts-file-back-to-the-default

==================== Hosts content: ==========================

(If needed Hosts: directive could be included in the fixlist to reset Hosts.)

DO NOT remove the telemetry!!!! Disabling the telemetry in settings doesn't stop MBAM sending data about your PC to their servers.

This has been discussed and agreed upon on this forum.
