"Website blocked due to Trojan" Kodi Add-on Malware undetected?

Recommended Posts

I recently found out about a criminal case involving a Kodi add-on repository (XvBMC) being linked to cryptomining software. Knowing this repo is where I may or may not have gotten an add-on from made me reinstall malwarebytes to check if anything was installed. I did a full scan (Threat and custom with all boxes ticked) and it came back clean. Thought I might be lucky and I could be unaffected but when I launched Kodi and attempted to stream something I got bombarded with popups from Malwarebytes saying "Website blocked due to Trojan" and a couple different websites being blocked every time. I added the reports if they mean anything, I'm quite concerned that the location of these is coming from the locked WindowsApps folder.

Would really appreciate any incite on this and what my course of action should be. I have no problem reinstalling windows on my affected laptop but I'm unsure if this problem is on my desktop as well (I think it is, don't have access right now). Would prefer to not have to reinstall all my programs etc if this can be fixed without nuking the drive and reinstalling though, especially on my desktop thats almost not an option there honestly.

Thanks guys.
