Hi

I've posted on this forum earlier just on a different board stating what my problems were so here's the previous text:

<start>

Hey, whenever I try to launch the AV, I get a popup which just reads 'Unable to connect the Service' and that's it.

I've tried to run the mb-cleanup file, I've used a Kaspersky rescue .iso to scan my pc and I've tried completely reinstalling the program a couple times.

I suspect my machine's already infected with some type of software which has all antivirus programs on a blacklist as my initial problem was with installing - I had to make the Malwarebytes folder myself and change the ownership to my own account because it redirected itself to an unknown user with apparently higher Administrative privileges than my account has.

I've also tried deleting all the untrusted certificates of which there was one per major antivirus program.

I've been struggling to fix this issue myself so I'm hoping I can find some support here.

</start>

I've been suggested to try using the MW Anti-Rootkit and ADWcleaner - both of which unfortunately made no difference. I've also tried rebooting / reinstalling a copious amount of times at every opportunity I got and yet no avail. I can't even launch MWB at all due to the 'Unable to connect the Service' error. My FRST & addition text files will be attached.

Thank you.

Hello @damedame and :welcome:

The logs indicate that your Registry probably has permissions issues. This is a very old post and video but it still shows how to go into the Registry and check and take owenership and reset permissions to allow those keys to be used.

Please review and see if this corrects your issue and let us know.

Thanks

Ron
