Web Protection Off

Hi Guys I am having this problem again.Last January i posted about my web protection turning off without good reason and it is doing the same again.I am running 3.5.1.2522 currently.Things i have tried to re-start the program are clicking on "quit malwarebytes" and re starting my computer which worked well for a few times but not now. i would be most appreciative of any help available to me.Please let me know if there any logs etc required.Many thanks in advance of any help.

If you are having technical issues with our Windows product, please do the following:

If you haven’t already done so, please run the Malwarebytes Support Tool and then attach the logs in your next reply:

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained is safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

  • Download Malwarebytes Support Tool
  • Once the file is downloaded, open your Downloads folder/location of the downloaded file
  • Double-click mb-support-X.X.X.XXXX.exe to run the program
    • You may be prompted by User Account Control (UAC) to allow changes to be made to your computer. Click Yes to consent.
  • Place a checkmark next to Accept License Agreement and click Next
  • You will be presented with a page stating, "Welcome to the Malwarebytes Support Tool!"
  • Click the Advanced Options link

  • Click the Gather Logs button

  • A progress bar will appear and the program will proceed to gather troubleshooting information from your computer
  • Upon completion, click OK
  • A file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your Desktop
  • Please attach the file in your next reply. Before submitting your reply, be sure to enable "Notify me of replies" like so:

Greetings,

A new version of Malwarebytes has been released, version 3.6.1.  I would suggest installing it to see if it fixes the issue.  To do so, either open Malwarebytes and navigate to Settings>Application and click the Install Application Updates button, or download and install the new version directly from here and then reboot and check to see if the issue returns or not.

exile 360 thanks a million for the link.I have downloaded and installed it and hopefully it will be the cure-all.?Just as a matter of interest when i was on the download page i noticed two settings regarding updates and full version notification,both of which i have set to on.I am sure you know what i am referring to.Just curious to know why I didn't get such notification,since the first thing a scan does is search for updates.Anyway all is well as i type,and,i will monitor it over the next few days and let you know.Many thanks again guys for your help it is much appreciated as ever.

Yes, unfortunately you won't always get notified immediately when a new program version is available.  This is because those update are rolled out gradually to users rather than all at once.  This is done to prevent hammering the update servers too hard with large numbers of large downloads simultaneously.  Clicking the button forces the update so that you don't have to wait.

I'm glad things seem to be going well now, but definitely let us know if the issue returns.

Hi exile360 posting back regarding my upgrade.I have monitored it over the past week or so and all is behaving as it should do.I cannot find any buttons on the forum page to mark this  thread solved,but , i think you can consider it such.Many thanks again for all your help and your time it is very much appreciated as ever.Best of luck with your work.
