Hello,

After many procedures done in my desktop with Nasdaq from Bleeping and Malwarebytes the problem with the popups fromMalwarebytes blocking uotbound coinhive.coms is still present without the CPU drainage now.....but now the problem is getting the software yo work properly. I cannot toggle the real time protection switchers:  I ckick , get the UAC wuindow, authorize and get back to the program´s unmodified GUID. What to do? The mb support software is NOT loading...I´ll try to run it in safe mode and get back to you!,

Thans,

Clarita

Greetings,

I don't know if it's related or not, but please check your User Account Control settings and verify that it is set to the default as illustrated on this page.

I don't believe protection will function in Safe Mode because Safe Mode limits which services and drivers are able to load, so I believe only the scanner will function in Safe Mode, not protection so this should be the expected behavior.  Of course that is not the case for normal mode, so please check your UAC settings in normal mode and verify that it is set to the default, and if not then change it to the default option, reboot, then see if you are able to toggle protection on/off normally and if you are able to get the Malwarebytes Support Tool to run in normal mode.

Please let us know how it goes and post a set of logs from normal mode if you are able to get it to run there and still have problems with protection not toggling.

Thanks

The modules will not turn in Safe Mode, this is expected. However they should be working in normal mode. Can you please try the following:

  1. Open Malwarebytes
  2. Navigate to Settings -> Application
  3. Turn on the Event Log Data option
  4. Restart the computer
  5. Wait 60 seconds
  6. Open Malwarebytes
  7. Try to turn on the protection modules that aren't enabled
  8. Once they fail, please gather a new set of logs using the same instructions as you did above (in normal mode) and attach the new zip file
