ANSWERED [ RESOLVED ] mwb 3.6.1. install fails

Recommended Posts

Trying to install mb3-setup-consumer-3.6.1.2711-1.00463-1.0.6913.exe on my Windows XP system fails with error message 'Runtime error 414:120: could not call proc'.

I had previously installed version 3.5.1, but could not upgrade, that is why I tried a new clean install.

I am a licensed premium user,  what am doing wrong?

That version is not supported on Windows XP. You will want to download this version: https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb3_legacy. Note that 3.5.1 with component update 1.0.365 is the last supported version on XP, and no updates past that are supported on XP

Hi dcollins,

You're life saver. I'm facing the same problem as 3.6 did NOT work on XP SP3 giving the error "Runtime Error 414:120 - Could not call proc".

Which latest XP version do you recommend as of today?

Best regards.

You can always get the latest supported version for XP SP3 and Windows Vista at the link dcollins provided.  This is covered in the FAQ entry located here.  If it receives any updates/patches in the future to make any improvements or fix any bugs or issues, then that newer version will be hosted at the same download link.  You've quoted the link above already from dcollins' previous post, however just in case anyone comes across this thread and wants to know where to get the latest build for the older operating systems, it can be found here:
