Scan is stuck and I can't exit out of it

Have you tried typing these three keys simultaneously control-option(sometimes labeled alt)-esc to bring up a "Force Quit Applications" window? Highlight the Malwarebytes application, click the "Force Quit" button and confirm that you want to force "Malwarebytes" to quit.

If that doesn't work, then you will need to hold the power on button down for a few seconds until the computer shuts down.

Also, what is it stuck on?

 

1.1.3.72 is that correct? Am I looking at the right thing? And it's stuck on Adware.MixPlugin

When I do that I get that I get that error sound. When I try to shut it down it says malware bytes has interrupted the shut down.

Not sure which action results in the error tone, but you need to hold the power button (see https://support.apple.com/HT201150 for location) for up to 10 seconds to force shutdown.

Are you able to upgrade to Malwarebytes for Mac 3? That will almost certainly solve your problem.

1.1.3 is extremely old at this point... nearly 3 years old. Its engine is far less capable, and is not able to detect or remove all of today's threats. I don't recommend using that at this point.

If you have macOS 10.10 or later, you should upgrade to Malwarebytes for Mac 3.

If you have 10.9, you can use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.3.1, which is the most current version of the older legacy app. It is currently able to detect and remove anything that 3.x can, although that will not remain true in the future.

Anything older than 10.9 requires versions of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware that I don't recommend using at this point.
