Trying to access a two-year renewal offer, as opposed to a one-year auto-renew.  When I click either of the two "renewal offer" buttons on the dashboard, I get a pop-up window saying "You'll need a new app to open this qrc", underneath that it says "Look for an app in the store".  When I click that, and then the OK button that lights up, I get a "No apps found for this filtering" window from the Microsoft Store.
*  What is a qrc, and what does Windows 10 need to open it?
*  Is there an alternative way to access the two-year renewal offer (ie, without going through the MWB dashboard)?

I opened a support ticket ( 2377898 ) back at the end of July.  No resolution yet - my subscription has been extended once so far) while a fix is being researched, but I thought I'd ask about the "qrc" business here for my own knowledge.

Thank you for any enlightenment you can bring.

'qrc' = Qt resource files

The Qt resource system is a platform-independent mechanism for storing binary files in the application's executable. This is useful if your application always needs a certain set of files (icons, translation files, etc.) and you don't want to run the risk of losing the files.

The resource system is based on tight cooperation between qmake, rcc (Qt's resource compiler), and QFile.

MBAM has alot of QT files. -- Qt5Core.dll is one of them..

I've been talking to our engineers around this. There is a known issue with the two year renewal offer that causes this to show up, and the support team should be able to help you out. I'm working with them on getting your ticket addressed.

Thanks for the info.  I originally thought it might be a new kind of executable (thus the need for an MS Store-provided app to execute it).  I'm sure they'll get things squared away eventually.

Thanks again.

Thank you, sir.  Appreciated.

In case it means anything, back when I first reported the issue, it was not because of the "qrc" issue, but that when I clicked the "special offer" button, it took me to a web page that (presumably) was associated with the offer, but was then immediately transferred to a second page that basically said I was ineligible for the offer.  After a couple weeks, I tried again and started getting the "qrc" box.  Since part of the initial reporting was giving them the URL of the web pages, I went back yesterday and tried to directly load into my browser (FF) the URL that I initially reported - and got what appeared to be the same results as originally - one page, followed immediately by the second "you're ineligible" page.  Just in case it's useful.

Thanks again.

I've got the same problem.

Malwarebytes indicates "Your subscription will renew for another year in 15 days" - "SAVE 50% and renew for another 2 years".

Below the message is a button 'Renewal Offer'. When I click on it, I get a message that I need a new app to open this qrc

In the top right corner is also an orange button 'Renewal Offer'. Same result here.

Greetings,

As dcollins mentioned above, there is currently a known issue with the 2 year renewal offer where it doesn't function properly however if you contact Malwarebytes Support directly via one of the options found on this page they will assist you in getting the pricing and subscription duration you desire which you are eligible for.

If there is anything else we might assist you with please let us know.

Thanks

I'm also in the boat where the 2 year renewal button does nothing. Logging my account tells me I'll be renewed for a year (not 2) at full cost. In addition I've created 2 tickets with support and I still have no reply after 48 hours. Malwarebyes is world class software but the renewal system and customer support is 3rd world...

This is my last grasp at renewal help - I'm about to remove my payment method from my account and not renew. If someone from Malwarebyes reads this - HELP please!

Please check your junk/spam folders for possible replies... what is your ticket number?  Maybe @bdubrow can take a look for you....

Thanks Firefox.

I've checked and double checked junk and spam folders. There is no mistake.

It's now 72 hours since I've lodged the first ticket. The first ticket number is 2536095 and the second 2536981.

Thanks for the replies exile360 and LiquidTension.

A support agent has now contacted me. I still don't have a fix yet but I hope to work though it with them.

The "renewal offer" button takes me to a page that says "You're all set!" however the price is not the offer and the duration is one year and not 2...

Excellent, I'm glad they've responded.  I'm certain they'll resolve the issue and provide you with the appropriate pricing.

If there's anything in the future that we might assist you with please don't hesitate to let us know.

Thanks
