MALWAREBYTES version 3 locked up explore.exe

Recommended Posts

Hi

first off , MALWRAEWBYTES was uninstalled from my system due to new problem’s occurs with the update of components (3.5.1.2522-1.0.421-1.0.6407) so what is just I do is to re-install MB again to make a deeper-more testing of MALWAREBYTES version 3 and I have to open the MB UI and hovering on setting > application > install application update and it take a long way to downloading of the new components update and also it take forever long time to installing ???? at all of this my internet connection gets very slowdown to crew and my Firefox web browser tabs  are won’t loading due to in fact MALWRAEWBYTES cause an bandwidth problem and my internet connectivity gets really very slow and I can’t do anything even on my own desktop because My window explore.exe isn’t responded and I know the cause of this "explore.exe" process is MALWRAEWBYTES itself . yeah , I can at least to right-click on my desktop to open the task-manager to kill all MALWRAEWBYTES.process and I have to kill both MBAM and MBAM.tray processes in order to rebooting my windows system but this won’t occur due to MALWRAEWBYTES locked up of the "EXPLORE.exe" process which I had to force powered-off my system and I then I got a black screen to have some option to start windows normally .etc anyway . I have start windows again and I get on the desktop and re-open both MALWAREBYTES and FIREFOX and yet again and I open the UI of MB and hover it again on setting > application > install application update and to no avail . still the same issue twice ????

by the way I had to boot my laptop to the safemode in order to remove MALWAREBYTES and to run MB-clean utility so just a side note : the MB-clean log file is from the safe mode of course !

Ditto. Went to update Malware bytes. The installation hung. Can’t shutdown normally. A restart results in a pop up to update which results in a locked computer irrespective of the response. Unable to uninstall...hangs. Unable to shutdown mbam.exe in task manager..access denied. This has basically turned my box into an inert object. Currently in the middle of an Acronis sector by sector restore which will, hopefully, get me back to last Monday and allow me to get this pig off of my system. This product used to rock but the very last thing I needed today was an all day computer puzzle.

Not defending anyone here, but that seems a little overkill for a hung application.  You could have booted into Safe Mode and uninstalled Malwarebytes and your PC would be back to normal.

Providing the logs requested from post #2 above would go a long way to see what is happening.
