Need Help With 3 Things

Recommended Posts

1. I have a lifetime license to Malwarebytes on my Win 7 desktop PC and want to install it on my laptop also. What's the best way to do this? Cancel the current license and buy a multi device license or just a new one for the laptop?

2. Tried to open my account, got an "account not set up check your email to set up account" prompt, but nothing ever arrived in my email. (Yes I did check the spam folder.)

3. Will soon be upgrading my desktop to Win 10 with new processor, motherboard and SSD. How can I have an existing license activated on that new build?

  1. If it's a single use license, the only current solution is to purchase a secondary license for that new machine. If it's a multi-use license, you should just be able to use it on the new machine.
  2. Sometimes the email may take a bit to show up, how long did you wait?
  3. When you upgrade your computer, if you're just cloning your drive over you shouldn't have to do anything. If you're doing a fresh install of Windows, be sure to go to Settings -> My Account and deactivate the product on your old setup, then you should be able to activate on your new system just fine.

If its a lifetime license, it is definitely single. There were no multi-computer lifetime licenses ever offered.

Did you have multiple email accounts? Maybe your email is sitting in the other one.

You would definitely need to deactivate before doing any upgrades. Make sure you copy down your license information just in case bad juju happens.
