Cannot Turn Ransomware Protection back on, 3.5.1.2522-1.0.421

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I've been having trouble with my MB so I ended up removing and reinstalling. I'm able to get it to come up on start up now, but I've had to turn on real time protection repeatedly, and I still cannot get the ransomware protection to come on (it won't even let me flip the on "switch"). I'm a bit stymied as to how to fix this. I see that others have had the same issue, so I'm going to start the process of troubleshooting.

Thanks!

HI! Me too. I found my Ransomware protection is in "off" position when I start up the computer just now. And it does not permit me to flip it to "on" position.

@Nonoyerbiznez did the Support tool worked for you?

@MB staff, do I have to download the link also? Thanks.

@Nonoyerbiznez -

Does this exclusion exist, and is this drive still connected to your computer?

E:\Program\MinerGate\minergate.exe

UPDATE

@Nonoyerbiznez

Please delete the above exclusion

Then, using the Malwarebytes notification area icon, right click on it, and select Quit Malwarebytes. Then, launch Malwarebytes once more.

Did that resolve the issue for you?

Greetings, all.

We did just release a new Component Update (CU) 1.0.441 which includes a fix for this issue.

You can get that CU without waiting for metering/automatic update by going to Settings > Application > click on "Install Application Updates"

Note:

Due to some of the changes we needed to implement for other issues fixed, you may see a "ghost" Malwarebytes notification area icon after the CU is applied. That will go away just by mousing over it, or at the next reboot.
