Trojan - pcdrwi.exe ??

Recommended Posts

I've found file on my computer that my research has produced conflicting information. Some sites say it's ransomware. I can't seem to find any definitive information. I did a scan with Malware, but it didn't come up as a problem, which I would THINK it would. Any info would be appreciated, particularly if it's a Trojan and how to remove it safely. Mine is located in Dell Support Assist directoryCapture.JPG.c7691ef54113ebdb51dc65fd4b11aeb9.JPG

Hello MonicaBurns and welcome to Malwarebytes,

pcdrwi.exe is part of PC-Doctor that is normally found on a Dell computer, it is a known communications manager and used by Technology for Dell SupportAssist. The application is beneficial if you have ProSupport Plus where you get proactive parts dispatches.

If you still have concerns regarding that application upload to VirusTotal and have it checked out. https://www.virustotal.com/en/

Thank you,

Kevin...
