USB Flash Drive intermittently fails to eject after Definition Update

Recommended Posts

This in an old issue, that I thought was fixed, using Malwarebytes Premium,  Component Package 1.0.391, Windows 10 Home 64 bit

Svchost will not allow Flash Drive to eject, "device in use" error, when Malwarebytes service running within 30 minutes of an Malwarebyes definition update.

Problem is intermittent, got the error day before yesterday, used "This PC" control panel to force USB flash drive ejection.

Yesterday, had no issues with USB flash drive ejection.

Problem came back, about an hour ago, when attempted to eject the flash drive and I quit Malwarebyes, using the System Tray icon, device properly ejected. restarted Malwarebytes

Came here to report the problem is back

Been fooling around with this for the past couple of days.

Ran MB Check 3.10.1000 after a definition update, with no errors or quarantines

Best guess, is 30 to 45 minutes after definition update the  "Malwarebytes Service: shows about a 10 plus Mb increase to 147 - 152 Mb on my system, usually stays around 135 to 137 Mb

@ Firefox

Waiting about five minutes between attempts to disconnect the Flash Drive does work
