Unable to contact license server.

Recommended Posts

I'm getting this error "Unable to contact license server. Check network settings or contact sys admin. I bought new license, and I need to use that now but I'm unable to use it.

Current version - 3.5.xx

  • How did you encountered the issue and any steps to reproduce it ?

             -   When I open MBAM, I get 2cbc8b4c6c.jpg

  • Do you get the same result more than once if you follow the same steps? YES.

So far from other solutions, I have done the following procedure.

mbst-grab-results.zip

Greetings,

I tried accessing the keystone server with my browser here and I was unable, so it is possible that there is a problem with the licensing server currently.  I will try to contact someone from the team to prompt an investigation assuming they are not already aware of the issue.

I will let you know what comes of it, thank you for your patience.

You have our license server blocked in your hosts file. You will need to remove the keystone.mwbsys.com entry. You can also remove the telemetry.malwarebytes.com entry and just turn off the telemetry option at the bottom of Settings -> Applications. If you're unsure of how to remove those entries, here's a Microsoft entry on how to reset your hosts file: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/972034/how-to-reset-the-hosts-file-back-to-the-default

Hosts File Blocks

Host data:	127.0.0.1 keystone.mwbsys.com
Host data:	0.0.0.0 telemetry.malwarebytes.com

Thanks that solved the problem.

It's strange because yesterday, I created a new hosts file myself and it didn't work ?
