component update 1.0.390 beta

Recommended Posts

Chrome browser will auto-covert a line you type w HTTP  to HTTPS automatically.  Same for Firefox, too

@CraigS

Go to Settings >>  About tab.    Under version information, what does yours show for "Component package" ?

Is it 1.0.391

Do all web browsers have the identical issue ?  Have you tried all of your web browsers?

A couple clarification points:

  • Chrome will certainly load non-https sites and does not throw a warning. They simply make it a note to call out the page is insecure in the address bar.
  • Chrome will also not auto-redirect you to https versions of websites if they exist, that only happens if you've already visited the site before. A great example of this is foxnews.com. Going there with no http:// or https:// prefix will take you to the http version, yet typing https://foxnews.com will take you to the fox news section.

@CraigS can you please check the component package version as Maurice mentioned?

I first thought .391 was a Mis-type and just re-visited this Thread. I still have .390 and Auto-Update is ON. Oops, Not Beta. It is Now.

Thanks for the interest..... .391 Loads all - http - addresses I tried, particularly Firefox Forums addresses.

Really appreciate the follow-up!
