worldnaturenet.xyz constant notifications

Recommended Posts

Whenever I sign into protonmail, I get notified of MWB blocking worldnaturenet.xyz at least three times. It pops up elsewhere too, but this only happens on my chrome.

I've reset and reinstalled my chrome, done numerous deep scans, blocked cookies, removed extensions and whatnot, and still naught. I don't know what's going on.

Hi,

Thanks for posting in the Malware Removal for Windows Help forum. Being infected is not fun and can be very frustrating to resolve, but don't worry because we have a team of experts here help you!!

Note: Please be patient. When the site is busy it can take up to 48 hours before a malware removal helper can assist you. If no one has replied to your new topic after 48 hours please contact a Moderator or Administrator to let them know.

First, if you haven't done so, please run a Threat Scan with the latest version of Malwarebytes. This may resolve your malware infection issue without the need for additional support. Click "Reveal Hidden Contents" below for details:

Spoiler

Malwarebytes can detect and remove most malware with no further actions required for free.

If you do not have Malwarebytes, please download it here and install. Be sure to post back the log as shown below.

  1. Open Malwarebytes for Windows
  2. To the left, click Scan > Scan Types.
    image.png
  3. Select Threat Scan. Threat Scan is the most thorough and recommended scan method available.

  4. Click Start Scan

Next, if you're still experiencing issues after running Malwarebytes, then technical logs will be required to assist you. Click "Reveal Hidden Contents" below and follow the instructions to run the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool:

Spoiler

Don't use any temporary file cleaners unless requested - this can cause data loss and make a recovery difficult.

Please download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool here and save it to your desktop. Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit

  1. Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to the disclaimer.
  2. Press the Scan button.
    _frst_scan.jpg.d10e66dc03e35ede4fdcba12b
  3. It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
  4. The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). If you've run it before it may not and you may need to select it manually.

Finally, attach the Malwarebytes Threat Scan, FRST.txt and Additional.txt logs to your reply. Before submitting your reply, be sure to enable "Notify me of replies" like so: notify me.jpeg

Click "Reveal Hidden Contents" below for details on how to add attachments to your post.
Note: If you are unable to attach files, please copy and past the contents of the requested files in your Reply instead.

To save attachments, please click the link as shown below. You can click and drag the files to this bar or you can click the choose files, then browse to where your files are located, select them and click the Open button.

Please Note the Following:

  • One of our expert helpers will give you one-on-one assistance when one becomes available.
  • Refrain from making any further changes to your computer (such as Install/Uninstall programs, using special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc...) unless advised by a malware removal helper. Doing so can result in system changes which may hinder the attempts by a helper to clean your machine.
  • Do not 'bump' or add a reply to your topic once it is started. Topics which appear to have replies are considered to have a helper assisting them and may be overlooked, resulting in a longer waiting period for help
  • If you're using Peer 2 Peer software such as uTorrent or similar, please completely disable it from running while being assisted here.

Let's go ahead then and scan for anything else that might be causing an issue.

Please run the following steps and post back the logs as an attachment when ready.

  • If you don't have Malwarebytes 3 installed yet please download it from here and install it.
  • Once installed then open Malwarebytes and check for updates. Then click on the Scan tab and select Threat Scan and click on Start Scan button.
  • Once the scan is completed click on the Export Summary button and save the file as a Text file to your desktop or other location you can find, and attach that log on your next reply.
  • If Malwarebytes won't run then please skip to the next step and let me know on your next reply.

STEP 02

Please download AdwCleaner by Malwarebytes and save the file to your Desktop.

  • Right-click on the program and select RunAsAdmin.jpg Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  • Accept the Terms of use.
  • Wait until the database is updated.

  • Press the Scan button.
  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.

  • Please attach the Additions.txt log to your reply as well.

Thanks

Ron

Let me have you do the following. Temporarily uninstall your McAfee antivirus and reboot. Then run the following.

Please visit this web page and read the ComboFix User's Guide:

  • Once you've read the article and are ready to use the program you can download it directly from the link below.
  • Important! - Please make sure you save combofix to your desktop and do not run it from your browser
  • Direct download link for: ComboFix.exe
  • Please make sure you disable your security applications before running ComboFix.
  • Once Combofix has completed it will produce and open a log file.  Please be patient as it can take some time to load.
  • Please attach that log file to your next reply.
  • If needed the file can be located here:  C:\combofix.txt
  • NOTE: If you receive the message "illegal operation has been attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion", just reboot the computer.

Thanks

Ron

Sorry for the multiple posts, but if I go and open chrome on my affected computer, even to fully disable all of the syncs, would it still sync the taint to the other clean computers or just be isolated on the affected one? I don't know the scope of worldnaturenet.xyz/trafficvalidation.tools' infection.

Okay, so Avast still shows some entries in the log but it looks like you possibly removed it already? Is that correct?

The network has a lot of persistent routes set which is not very common or normal especially for a home user. Did you set those routes on purpose?

The logs also still show entries for McAfee. Did you remove it?

I hope this doesn't get worse, my sync is turned off but I still see this when I log into my protonmail. I've removed avast now, yes. My house has three networks since there was three people using it once, and as for mcafee I hadn't because I was afraid that more PUPs would sneak on the moment I did, but i'll do it now.

Please attach new FRST logs once you remove McAfee.

Also, please reply about the persistent routes. Did you setup all those routes on purpose to other networks in the house? Are they still there or is it still needed? If not I'd suggest resetting the network stack.

Honestly, I didn't set up the routes, nor would I know why. I'm not very tech proficient, but I will try to get someone to fix the network stack.

Here are the other logs as you've requested.

That is a setting in your browser. Is that in Firefox or Chrome or ???

I can reset the network for you and do some other clean up. Give me a few minutes to write you a fix script.

I almost exclusively use chrome. As for the routes, they're still used regularly.

The browser hijacker that I got when avast first notified me of a phishing attempt is search323892.xyz, It hasn't shown up on any antivirus scan at all. I don't know where worldnaturenet.xyz and trafficvalidation.tools came from either, nor did they show up on any logs.

Alternatively, a few PUPs have been detected and removed in the past, but I don't think those have anything to do with it. Is it safe to change my passwords on my afflicted computer, even if the hijacker URLs are blocked by uBlock origin? Has it affected and/or got onto my google profile?

Wait, setting? What do you mean by that?
