Hello,

when I start the Malware scan it scans 3K files then jumps to 130K files and continues from there. Anyone got an idea what is wrong? I tried to run the FRST file but windows defender blocked it from being installed.

Regards, Oliver

It's typical for the number of items scanned to jump suddenly following the memory scan phase.  This is because immediately after items in memory are scanned, Malwarebytes checks startup and registry locations which are checked very quickly, particularly since the registry isn't actually composed of physical files, but is in reality just a database so checking many registry items goes by very quickly.  That's why the items scanned jumps suddenly when it completes the memory scan and gets to the file system scan.  You can check this yourself by observing the phases listed in the Scan tab during the scan.  You'll see it go through the memory phase then very quickly get through both the startup and registry phases and then commence the file system phase.

There is an error in our program that could be due to an update issue from Microsoft or possibly a corrupt install of our program. Windows has made updates and requires a reboot. Please go ahead and reboot your computer.

Then after the reboot. Run the Malwarebytes Support Tool again and click on the Advanced Options link. Then click on the CLEAN button. That will fully remove Malwarebytes and ask to restart the computer. It will then reinstall Malwarebytes again from a fresh installer.

Once that's done, please restart the computer one more time. Then run a new Threat Scan with Malwarebytes and see if there is any difference

Thanks

Ron

Very sorry about that @Moof

My guess is that maybe your G Data antivirus possibly blocked the download

Please go ahead and download a new installer from this link and then install it and reboot.

If there are any issues please let me know.
