is it possible that malwarebytes is reporting incoming port scan attempts?

with nothing running, no browser, no im, no p2p, no email client i get pop-ups reporting mostly chinese ips.

i've run gmer, several anti-virus, malwarebytes scans and all report the system is clean?

It's certainly possible, but if this was the case, I'd suggest checking your firewall (the firewalls logs would also confirm this either way), as the firewall should be preventing their coming in to begin with.

This IP belongs to a Chinese range, and is known for malware and hacking attempts

http://hosts-file.net/?s=218.6.8.182

The IP is also listed in several blacklists, including;

autoshun.org

dev.null.dk

spamsources.fabel.dk

spam.dnsbl.sorbs.net

dnsbl-1.uceprotect.net

no-more-funn.moensted.dk

ok, but i'm a bit confused. the pop up came while i was here and nothing else on my computer was attempting a connection as checked in the firewall logs. what could be causing the alert?
