Malwarebytes Crashing Windows

I updated to the latest version of Windows 10, X64, version 1804 on my Surface Laptop. Shortly after my laptop began crashing with a blue screen. I reinstalled Windows 10 and reinstalled Malwarebytes, latest version, after much difficulty proving ownership to Malwarebytes satisfaction. Surface laptop was crashing again with a message indicating a critical process had died.

Suspecting Malwarebytes (due to their previous fiasco), I removed Malwarebyes from my laptop. Since removing Malwarebytes the laptop has not crashed. Thus confirming my suspicion to a reasonable level of certainty that Malwarebytes is most likely causing version 1804 of Windows 10 X64 to crash. Not good.

Thus Malwarebytes has found a way to invalidate my lifetime license. I guess Malwarebytes has reached the end of it's life on my computer. The crashes simply cannot be tolerated.

If you haven’t already done so, please run the Malwarebytes Support Tool and then attach the logs in your next reply:

  • Download Malwarebytes Support Tool
  • Once the file is downloaded, open your Downloads folder/location of the downloaded file
  • Double-click mb-support-X.X.X.XXXX.exe to run the program
    • You may be prompted by User Account Control (UAC) to allow changes to be made to your computer. Click Yes to consent.
  • Place a checkmark next to Accept License Agreement and click Next
  • You will be presented with a page stating, "Welcome to the Malwarebytes Support Tool!"
  • Click the Advanced Options link

  • A progress bar will appear and the program will proceed to gather troubleshooting information from your computer
  • Upon completion, click OK
  • A file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your Desktop

Version 3.5.1 was also released recently, which might correct the problem you're experiencing.  According to the information here several issues with crashes and stability have been addressed in this latest release which was published only yesterday, including the following:

Improved driver management for increased stability
Fixed reported crashes related to Web Protection

It might be worth a shot to download and install the latest from here to test and see if it resolves the issue.  Also, if you're still having trouble with your lifetime license being accepted you may contact Support directly via one of the options on this page and they should be able to assist you in resetting the license key so that you may activate it on your system again.
