Malwarebytes Lifetime: Amazon.com is not an authorized seller?

Recommended Posts

I had bought a lifetime license from Amazon in 2015. This was sold by Amazon directly.

Recently I was going to upgrade most of the computer I was using the license, so I unregistered the computer from within MB, however I did not run MBAM.

When I finished reactivating Windows again, I ended up with

I already contacted support asking to be able to reactivate my license, and provided the invoice Amazon gave me. However, I was told this license is "invalid" because it was not bought directly from Malwarebytes, and given a "free year" of Premium as a compensation, which I only noticed it was a year after being activated, in no way being told before that I was not going to be issued a Lifetime key.

So I ask this: Is Malwarebytes' policy to kill as many Lifetime licenses as possible to force people to subscribe? Why is Amazon treated as a non-authorized seller and their keys disabled?

And before someone suggests it: No, the key and ID I have do not show up on search engines.

Just because the program was on Amazon, does not mean the Amazon was selling it. You have to watch out for third party sellers of which there are many, and

sometimes not do they show up as sellers.

I have had that happen to me.

In other words fake sales.

You may be right.  I just checked and the actual Amazon listing for the digital download of Malwarebytes is shown as being sold by Amazon Digital Services LLC, not Amazon Digital Services Inc (I assume the difference is relevant and means that one is a scam and the other is the legit/actual Amazon.com storefront/seller).

The company changed their name from the Inc to LLC lately. The selling they do is legit and is backed by Amazon. Just as the name applies, its for their digital services and a person can go to Amazon with any questions, problems, etc...

I went thru same thing as I had bought 3 from Amazon Digital in 2015 with same results later on. Some people had same issue from same deal posted on SD and were able to get Amazon the help, some was able to be Malwarebytes to help others was just SOL.
