i recently acquired a Oukitel K3 mobile from the Oukitel store on Amazon.co.uk .

I scan every new mobile i get before i start using it, using anti-malware apps for one.

Malwarebytes has detected an issue with the Sound Recorder app thats pre-installed - Android/Trojan.Agent.AED

But since i got this mobile straight from the manufacturer im wondering if this is a false positive, even with the stories i have seen about this model as they don't say in the stories where they acquired the mobiles.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hi @SpartanFire,

If you could send me an Apps Report, I can look further into this.

To send an Apps Report with Malwarebytes for Android use the following instructions.

1.Open the Malwarebytes for Android app.

2.Tap the Menu icon.

3. Tap Your apps.

4. Tap three lines icon in upper right corner.

5. Tap Send to support

Choose an email app to send Apps Report.

Your email app will open with the Apps Report included. Send the Apps Report to create a ticket.

PM the email used and/or the ticket number assigned.

Nathan

Hi @SpartanFire,

I believe I found the detection for this Android/Trojan.Agent.AED.  The detection is very specific, and comes with some scary classes such as AutoSendSmsService. Not something a sound recorder should be doing.  It appears Sound Recorder is preinstalled malware, which is becoming more of an issue -> Mobile Menace Monday: Preinstalled adware and sometimes worse

Preinstalled malware cannot be removed, only disabled.  Instructions to disable are in the blog post linked above.
