onespeedbiker Posted May 1, 2018 ID:1238289 Share Posted May 1, 2018 I recently rid a friends computer (PC with Windows 7) of some Malware with a Malwarebytes scan. I further installed Malwarebytes (the trail version of Premium). Today the person called and said she was being prompted to install an upgrade. I told her that is normal and to click on it. She then said the program was asking for her Xfinity password. Huh? I could not imagine why Malwarebytes would request her Xfinity password (she Xfinity as her email client), so I told her to stop and close the request without doing anything else. Has anyonr heard of such a thing?
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted May 1, 2018 Root Admin ID:1238360 Share Posted May 1, 2018 I'm sure there was probably something else on the box asking for an update. We would not ask for any password. When you're on the computer again please run the following for us and we'll see what we can find. Can you grab some logs so we can try to see what's going on? Download and run the Malwarebytes Support Tool Accept the EULA and choose Advanced Options Click on Gather Logs and upload/attach the zip file that is put on your desktop, mbst-grab-results.zip Thank you Ron
